Lynx presented at ESWC and ReMeP 2020

Last week, our partners from Semantic Web Company attended the Extended Semantic Web Conference that was celebrated online. During the conference, Sotiris Karampatakis and Artem Revenko, active members of Lynx Consortium, talked about the role of Named Entity Recognition applied to case law.

This week, the Research Meets Practice Conference 2020 is being virtually celebrated. Jorge Conejero, from CuatreCasas, will be involved with a Lynx Booth, and Víctor Rodríguez Donce will talks about legal ontologies and, specifically, about the Lynx use case.

Lynx presented in the Geothermal Energy sector

Today 3 June, Lynx has been presented in a #stayengaged geothermal event --three days full of inspiring conversations around geothermal energy. Pieter Verhoeven (DNV-GL) presented how natural language and semantic web technologies help the geothermal market overcoming the legislative and regulatory frictions -value can be created from the Lynx information resources.

The event took place in remote modality, and the slides are soon to appear online as well.

2nd Lynx Coding Sprint at Cercedilla

Last week, during the 27th-31st of January, several member of Lynx project were reunited in Cercedilla for the last coding sprint of the project. The objective of this 5 days meeting was to spot and solve blocking issues to proceed with the last improvements of the Legal Knowledge Graph.

Representatives from the three pilots also attended in order to adapt the platform to their requirements: Labour Law (Cuatrecasas), Contracts (openlaws) and Industrial Standards (DNV-GL).

6th Lynx (Virtual) Plenary Meeting

 

Starting from today, March 16th, until Wednesday March 18th, we are virtually attending 6h Lynx Plenary Meeting. The original plan was to have it in Arnhem, hosted by DNV GL. However, due to the exceptional situation caused by COVID-19, we have cancelled everything and celebrating the meeting remotely. During these days, we will take the final decisions regarding Lynx pilots and solving blocking issues, since the final review is approaching.

Success at JURIX Industry Session

Lynx project was present throughout the whole JURIX conference, hosted by the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid during the 11-13 December. However, the project was of special interest in JURIX Industry Session, were several of the project partners' were participating (openlaws, Cuatrecasas and UPM). 

Some of the use cases were presented as well by their corresponding coordinators. The different exploitation applications of the Legal Knowledge Graph aroused the interest of the audience, both for academics and business professionals.
