Lynx presented in China

Lynx was presented yesterday at the Global Artificial Intelligence Technology Conference. Asunción Gómez Pérez, in an embassy representing research at UPM, presented Lynx among other projects where UPM participates, before a populous audience. Europe is earning a leading reputation in the area of multilingualism and European technological companies may find in Asia an excellent market to grow.

The Global Artificial Intelligence Technology Conference (GAITC) was founded by the China Artificial Intelligence Society in 2016. All the previous conference have attracted thousands of domestic and foreign technical experts, entrepreneurs and investors in the field of artificial intelligence to participate. Workshop on Language Resources and Technologies for the Legal Knowledge Graph

The 1st Workshop on Language Resources and Technologies for the Legal Knowledge Graph took place in May the 12th, in Japan. This exciting event gathered experts from the langauge resources community and the legal domain, who shared their view on the Legal Knowledge Graph.

The project coordinator, Elena Montiel Ponsoda, and DFKI's researcher Julián Moreno Schneider were present in Miyazaki, Japan to conduct the event. Proceddings are already available online for download in an open modality.

Lynx presented at the kick-off meeting of the PDP4E

María Poveda presented the Lynx project at the kick-off meeting of PDP4E, which counted with the presence of its project officer. PDP4E is an innovation action that will provide software and system engineers with methods and software tools to systematically apply data protection principles in the projects they carry out, so that the products they create comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), thus bringing the principles of Privacy and Data Protection by Design to practice.

PDP4E will introduce privacy and data protection into software and system engineering disciplines (Risk Management, Requirements Engineering, Model-Driven Design, and Assurance), which drive the everyday activities of engineers.

Lynx at Big Data Value Meet-up in Sofia

The European Big Data Value community will gather the 16th of May in Sofia, Bulgaria, in an event organised by the Big Data Value PPP, with the twofold objective of strengthening collaborations among community members and increasing the visibility and awareness about the PPP in East Europe in general and Bulgaria in particular.

The event, which will be preceded by two days of workshops and parallel sessions for PPP projects and BDVA members, will involve relevant keynotes from Bulgaria and the EC.

Participants from the Semantic Web Company (Martin Kaltenböck) and UPM (Víctor Rodríguez Doncel) attending the BDVA meeting in Sofia.

First day: a warm welcome and a very nice session on data sharing, data management plans and data portals. Participants in many other H2020 projects are sharing their vews on this, guided by the Commission's view. Second day: BDVA internal meetings and super-interesting workshops. Third day: an open day for public communication and dissemination...

2nd Plenary Meeting in Berlin

Kindly hosted by DFKI, Lynx celebrates its second plenary meeting. Besides the main track, this three-day meeting comprises a developers' track where tutorials, practical applications and technical discussions are held. 

About 20 people attend this meeting, with a very dense agenda to enter the 6th month of Lynx as productive as possible. The photo below is also available in high resolution.
